Testimonials from our authors
Without their help, this book may not have gotten beyond the first draft.

Nina and Beth have done a marvelous job — way beyond what I might have expected, and I've got to admit I'm green at this and may have been skeptical! They've been thorough and extremely helpful, and I'd recommend them to anyone, any time. They have fulfilled my original image of what editors should do. They were a pair of lionesses, tearing apart the novel in order to improve it. I only wish that had been done sooner, because it was what I'd expected from my original coach, but never got.

It is clear to me what a monumental job you guys did on my manuscript. A lot of thought and expert analysis went into it, I'm sure. I can't thank both of you enough for helping me add the in-depth insights that both of you have shown me. Both of you are excellent teachers, and I will take with me (when all this has come to fruition) many wonderful lessons learned.

Choosing Launch Pad Media for our editing turned out to be the best thing we could have done. Nina and Beth really know their trade and communicate in a clear, productive way. We're very pleased with their work. It was well worth the time spent.

I must admit that at first I was tempted to burn your letter... However, like most writers, I needed time to get over it... I believe I have included most of your suggestions and certainly all of the grammar corrections. In fact, the book I sent you was 204 pages. My final draft is 285, in part because I had not clarified many of my points and fleshed out ideas for the reader. I wanted to thank you both for your efforts. Thank you for your willingness to work with a new writer.

I must say that I am very pleased with your detailed and constructive criticisms of the second half of my novel. ...I have been unclear about what direction to take and, I guess, why exactly it feels unnatural and unsatisfying. Your comments are frank and enlightening. They have got my mind stirring. I look forward to going through the manuscript piece by piece with your notes.

I would like to share a brief thought with you that has been on my mind since you sent me the e-mail informing me of the extra work that was needed on my work. I wondered why most, perhaps all, first time writers believe they are the second coming of Ernest Hemingway. I believe it has more to do with falling in love rather than ego. When my wife and I fell in love, we felt there was nothing we could not accomplish together. When I saw my children in their hospital crib, I instantly fell in love and knew they were going to be the best and the brightest. I believe the same thing happened with my story. After living with it for such a long period of time, I fell in love. So why should it not be the greatest piece of work ever done? Your e-mail brought me back to reality, and your report confirmed the extensive work that needs to be done to put it into presentation form. I am grateful for your efforts on my behalf.
